Atlanta Golf Day™ continues as the anchor — the last Monday in August, every year, now recognized by the City of Atlanta. Atlanta Golf Week™ grows around it.

How It Started
On Monday, August 31, 2026, Atlanta closed out National Golf Month with a celebration all its own. Golfers, first-time players, civic leaders and community supporters gathered at Browns Mill Golf Course for the inaugural Atlanta Golf Day™ — and the city made it permanent.
Proclamation recognizing the last Monday in August annually as Atlanta Golf Day™ — sponsored by Councilmember Eshé Collins and presented by Councilmember Wayne Martin.
A separate proclamation from the Board of Commissioners — sponsored by Commissioner Marvin S. Arrington Jr. and presented by Richard Case.
An official letter from Mayor Andre Dickens applauding the founders’ efforts to broaden access to golf and create new opportunities for community engagement.
